Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an review of claims about questionable actions directed at young women.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
