Patrick Bamford Signs With Sheffield United Despite Leading Derogatory Songs Targeting Coach Wilder

Patrick Bamford is now a member of Sheffield United only seven months following leading derogatory songs aimed at their manager, Chris Wilder.

This experienced striker, without a club since leaving Leeds United, has signed a contract with the second-tier strugglers until January. Bamford's seven-year career with Leeds concluded through agreement this past summer.

Among Bamford’s last memorable actions as a Leeds player was to lead offensive songs about Chris Wilder amid Leeds' success festivities this spring. Past Conflict Involving the Striker & Wilder

Reconciliation & Moving Forward

Everything seems has been put behind them with United, the Championship’s least productive attack, urgently requiring of a boost up front and Bamford hoping to rejuvenate his playing days.

The Wilder chant went viral this spring. A repentant Bamford and the Leeds manager, Farke, called the Sheffield United manager the next day.

Chris Wilder commented back then: “Had a conversation with Patrick recently and I have no issue at all with it. I'm uncertain regarding the language from a fellow pro! However I appreciated and respected him calling me.

“We had a short while and similarly I spoke to Daniel too and had a longer discussion with him and he is a great person, a top guy. Back in my playing days we used to give it and take it and that’s an integral part of football across all levels, including a Sunday morning. I've got no problem at all. I'm fine with it and I said that to Patrick.”
