Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.

These accusations come after an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, police said.

A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people required hospital care and were later discharged.

This event – described by police as was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – led to train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
